During the high season, Bangkok becomes a thrifter’s paradise with vintage stalls, flea markets and maker fairs held all across the Thai capital. Set in the underground Metro Mall of Kamphaeng Phet MRT station, the Re:Turn Market is a lesser known, vintage gem in Bangkok. This small, yet carefully curated market is stuffed full with over 70 vendors selling everything from old vinyl records to preloved sportswear, classic toys to bespoke crafts.

Our Experience Visiting
We headed to the Re:Turn Market after a late lunch at Bangkok’s Or Tor Kor Market. Feeling full after a delicious Thai rice and curry feast, we headed down to the steps of the MRT station to see what vintage bargains we could find. As we arrived at the Metro Mall, stalls spread out lining every wall of the underground shopping centre. The first stall immediately piqued our interest. On the floor sat piles and piles of preloved Levi jeans and Carhartt t-shirts in every colour of the rainbow. Not finding anything we fancied (or at least anything that fitted John) we dove deeper into the market.
We passed a stall overflowing with pastel pink, digital Baby G watches sitting next to the shiny metal straps of Fossil and old Rolexes. Next to this, North Face jackets hung side by side to Columbia jumpers and other well-known outdoor brands. Another stall looked as though it had fallen straight from the 90s and was full of chic bomber jackets, classic Nike trainers and retro sports t-shirts. Further along, we found a toddler’s idea of heaven, as rows upon rows of cuddly toys sat staring back at us. Pooh bears sat next to Minnie Mouse, Woody next to the iconic Mr Bean teddy. We paused at a sports stall selling t-shirts from every brand imaginable. Ellie picked up a stylish preloved Champion t-shirt and John found a burgundy Vans shirt amongst the racks.
Next to the sportswear we found a stall specialising in music. Boxes of vinyls sat underneath racks of old band t-shirts. It was a curious mix of every genre and style, with gig t-shirts from Offspring to Spice Girls, Blink 182 to All Saints, Metallica to Destiny’s Child.
Amongst all these secondhand goods, were small craft stalls selling handmade jewellery, stickers and keyrings. Ellie bought two beautiful stone and pearl bracelets from a cheerful lady selling her handmade wares.
After about two hours of slow browsing, we were thrifted out. Happy and content we left, bags and hearts full with vintage goods!
Where Is The Market Held?
The Re:Turn Market is held in the Metro Mall located within Kamphaeng Phet’s MRT station. You can find the location on Google Maps here.
Dates / Times Of The Market
The Re:Turn Market is held every couple of weeks. For details of all the upcoming market events, just head over to the @rookie_bkk Instagram page.
The market is open from 11:00 until 21:00 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
We have been lucky enough to visit the market a few times now on different weekends and different days. When we visited on Friday (around mid-afternoon) we basically had the whole market all to ourselves which made browsing the stalls so much easier. The next time we visited, we were there late morning on a Saturday just before we headed to Chatuchak Weekend Market and it was a lot busier! So if you fancy shopping in peace, follow our lead and head to the market early on Friday.
There are stickers galore at Bangkok’s vintage fairs!
How To Get There?
The easiest way to get to the market is to hop on the Blue MRT line to Kamphaeng Phet MRT station. The market is held just above the MRT tracks in the Metro Mall. If you’re heading north on the Green BTS line, then get off at Chatuchak Park and head down to Mo Chit station on the Blue MRT line. From there, head south for one stop to get back to Kamphaeng Phet. At Kamphaeng Phet MRT Station you will need to follow the signs for Exit 1.
As we’ve said above, the Re:Turn Market sits just next door to the world famous Chatuchak Market so you could easily plan a full day of market shopping. There’s also the chance to thrift for some more vintage bargains in the ginormous, multi-floor Red Building Vintage Chatuchak that sits just above Kamphaeng Phet’s MRT. This huge mall is full of shops stuffed full of clothes, antiques, electronics and more!
You really never know what you are going to find!
Entry Fees
The Re:Turn Market is completely free to enter. Just bring yourself and plenty of baht!
Facilities
The Metro Mall has a small collection of street food stalls open on the weekends selling portions of all the Thai street food favourites (pad kra pao, pad thai etc) as well as a rice and curry buffet. There is also a coffee shop inside the underground mall. We didn’t get a coffee from here, so can’t comment on how good it is; however, if you’re after a really good caffeine fix, we would recommend leaving the station at Exit 1, turning left into the gated carpark and heading to Compress Coffee. We enjoyed two delicious iced lattes from this very stylish craft coffee shop, they were fantastic!
If you’re visiting on Saturday and Sunday, then there’s the food court, street food stalls, restaurants and bars all set within Chatuchak Weekend Market, a 5 minute walk from the station itself. There is also a 7-Eleven store (follow the signs for Exit 3) on the main road next to Or Tor Kor Market. Or Tor Kor Market itself is our “go-to” for food in the area, it has a fantastic food court full of every Thai delicacy imaginable, we would recommend eating here over the chaos of Chatuchak Market!
There are toilet facilities in the station itself as well as in Chatuchak Market and Or Tor Kor Market.
If you buy too much at the Re:Turn Market and are planning some more shopping around Chatuchak then there are luggage facilities at the top of the escalators of Exit 2 (Chatuchak Market exit).
Final Thoughts
The Re:Turn Market was one of our favourite vintage markets we visited. Although not the biggest in Bangkok, we ended up spending a lot longer at the market than we expected. We loved how varied the vintage fair was with both preloved trinkets sitting alongside handmade crafts. All the clothes we browsed through were all in great nick and well washed. In some markets we’ve visited, some of the t-shirts and clothing have looked a little worse for wear, with stains and holes on the items, yet everything we looked at at the Re:Turn market was in good condition.
We loved our time so much at the market, we ended up visiting again the next time it was on and picked up some really cool postcards made by a local artist.

Made By Legacy Flea Market, Bangkok
We absolutely adore thrifting at vintage markets, so when we found out about the Made By Legacy Flea Market in Bangkok we just had to visit. With over 250 stalls, food, bars and a DJ it was the perfect way to spend a weekend in the Thai capital!
Whenever we are in Bangkok, we have always found that some of the best days in the city are usually the ones that happen by accident, and this happened to be the case when we decided to head to the Made By Legacy Flea Market.

We had woken up in Bangkok with no set plan. After a lazy morning, sitting scrolling in bed, Ellie stumbled upon an Instagram reel that intrigued us. A market stuffed full of vintage vendors combined with food stalls, bars and a DJ, the flea market sounded like the perfect way to spend a sunny Saturday in the Thai capital! So sun cream slathered, bug repellent sprayed, we hopped onto an MRT bound for the south of the city.
The closest BTS station to the event was Punnawithi on the light green Sukhumvit Line. When you arrive at Punnawithi, ignore Google Maps and don’t exit from Exit 2 like we did! Leading from the south of the station is a raised walkway above the very busy Sukhumvit Road that leads you straight to the entrance of Cloud 11 - a much better route than the narrow roadside pavement we took.
Cloud 11 is a humongous, glass fronted, brand new modern development located about 10 minutes walk from Punnawithi BTS station in the Phra Khanong District of Eastern Bangkok. As we entered the big foyer of the building we were starting to question whether or not we were in the right location as it just looked like one big construction site. In front of us, empty shops lay vacant and escalators led upwards to uninhabited floors. We were losing faith but a lady quickly directed us to a lift and pressed floor 5.
As we emerged, we stumbled out onto a modern rooftop garden filled to the brim with market stalls stretching off into the distance. Entrance fees paid (160 baht each), wrist bands attached, we dove in for an afternoon of thrifting!
As we entered the market, it felt like we had stumbled upon London a decade ago. Laidback beats from a live DJ echoed all around whilst the smell of charcoal and bread baking permeated the air! We love a good market and on first impressions, we were already loving the vibes of Made By Legacy.
As we walked down the perimeter of the market, more and more stalls appeared. In the first section of the market, sat in neat rows on the grass lawns, vintage clothes stalls rubbed shoulders with contemporary jewellery, classic trainers and old-school designer sunglasses. As we wandered through the alley ways we stopped to play with sleek fountain pens at a Japanese-style stationary stall, spoke to a vendor about how he created bags out of old coffee bean packets and bought a small bag that would be perfect for storing some of our many cables whilst travelling!
As we left the first section we came to one of the food courts. On either side, street food stalls sold everything from Thai stir-fry favourites to Japanese yakitori. Dotted amongst the food vendors there was a bar where you could pour your own Guiness and even a coffee shop. In the lawn, sitting underneath the reflections of the window panes all around, sat a stage where a DJ supplying chilled out beats for the picnicking and thrifting couples all around.
As the sun was out and we were hungry for lunch, we opted for a delicious parma ham and rocket pizza. Stringy with cheese, salty and covered in a delicious basil spiked, sweet tomato sauce, it was the ideal meal to begin an afternoon of shopping.
Sometimes you can’t resist a cheesy pizza!
After our cheesy pizza it was time to dive into our second wave of shopping. Behind the food vendors, in a covered hall sat more stalls. This section of the market was more focussed on antiques and homeware. We passed by beautifully carved wooden cabinets sitting underneath bright neon lights and vintage roadsigns. Walked underneath huge clocks and old film posters and walked alongside rows and rows of silver pocketwatches. There was even a pack of tyrannical Top Trumps for sale! If you had just moved into a condo in Bangkok, this would be the perfect place to deck out your new home with loads of unique and retro finds to be discovered.
Behind this section, were some more food stalls. This time in a literal “food court” as they were set up on top of a basketball court! We were already pleasantly full of wood fired pizza but if you go, make sure you check out both sets of food before picking your munch.
After this section we moved back through to the new makers area. A set of stalls that had created, crafted and recycled old artefacts into new trinkets. Selling everything from bag pins to pencil cases, caps to socks there were lots of cool things to buy.
We absolutely loved our afternoon at the Made By Legacy flea market. It was a market that mixed the old and new perfectly. We really enjoyed that half the vendors were selling antiques and vintage memorabilia, whilst other vendors were selling crafts made from old trinkets, recycled into something new. We spend a good couple of hours exploring the stalls, sitting in the sun and soaking up the chilled out vibes.
For more information on when and where the next market will be held, make sure to check out the Made By Legacy website or follow them over on their Instagram.
